AIR CLEANER. A dual element, dry type. Outside air is drawn
through the filter elements by a vacuum created in the turbo-
charger. When one, or both, of the elements get clogged, a
"high vacuum" switch in the air cleaner housing turns on the
PLUGGED AIR FILTER indicator on the instrument panel.
TURBOCHARGER. Pulls in the clean air from the air cleaner

and compresses it. The turbocharger is driven by the engine
exhaust gases; the exhaust gases turn the turbine wheel, which
causes the compressor wheel to turn. The compressed air then
goes to the inlet manifold of the engine.
INLET MANIFOLD. The system of passages inside the engine

used to guide the compressed air to the cylinders.
CYLINDER HEADS. Contain the valves and valve system com-

ponents which control the flow of inlet air and exhaust gases
into and out of the cylinder during engine operation.
