a. Test parking brake and indicator light for proper

WARNING
Brake system is under hydraulic pressure. Pressure must be relieved before loosening lines. Stop
machine on level ground. Apply parking brake and shut down engine. Pump brake pedal several
times until no pressure remains. Failure to relieve pressure as indicated may cause injury or death
to personnel.
b. Park machine on level ground, with parking
brake applied, transmission in N (Neutral), con-
tainer handler forks lowered to the ground,
engine shut down, and wheels blocked. Relieve
brake system hydraulic pressure by pumping
brake pedal several times until no pressure
remains.
c. Inspect parking brake control valve and brake Class III oil leaks are evident.
lines for leaks and damage. If leaks or damage
are evident, notify Direct Support Maintenance.
d. Adjust parking brake linkage as required. (See
