Install drive belt (4).

Turn adjusting screw (1) clockwise to increase belt tension and tighten jamnut (2) (Refer to Adjustment).
Tighten retaining screw (3) to 60 lb-ft (81 Nm).
Tighten alternator mounting screw (5) and locknut (6) to 35 lb-ft (47 Nm).
Belt tension for new alternator drive belt should be 140 lb-ft (190 Nm). For a used belt, adjust-
ment range on belt tension is 60-110 lb-ft (81-149 Nm).
A drive belt which has been in service more than 10 minutes is considered a used belt.
Measure belt tension with gage (8). If measurement is within specified range, no adjustment is required. If measurement
is not as specified, proceed to next step.
Loosen jamnut (2).
