HYDRAULIC SYSTEM OIL FILTERS REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED
HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR BREATHER FILTER REMOVAL
Hydraulic reservoir has two breather filters. Each breather filter is removed the same way.
Using strap wrench, remove breather filter (11) from hydraulic reservoir (2). Discard breather filter.
HYDRAULIC RESERVOIR BREATHER FILTER INSTALLATION
Breather filter comes with a gasket that is not required for this application. Discard gasket.
Apply a thin coat of pipe sealing compound to threads at top of hydraulic reservoir (2).
Install new breather filter (11) on hydraulic reservoir (2).
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM IN-LINE FILTERS AND FILTER HEAD REMOVAL
Close appropriate ball valve at hydraulic reservoir.
If hydraulic filter has a drain plug (19) at bottom of filter bowl (18), remove drain plug and drain hydraulic fluid into a
suitable container. Reinstall drain plug.
Remove filter bowl (18) from filter head (12) by rotating filter bowl counterclockwise.
Remove filter element (17) from filter bowl (18). Discard filter element.
Remove O-ring (16) between filter head (12) and filter bowl (18). Discard O-ring.
Tag hydraulic lines for installation.
Disconnect hydraulic hoses and fittings from filter head (12).
Remove two screws (14), washers (15), and filter head (12) from bracket (13).
