STEERING ACCUMULATOR REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

REMOVAL
1.
Disconnect hose (4) from fitting (3).
2.
Remove two nuts (2) and loosen clamps (5).
3.
Remove accumulator (1) from clamps (5).
4.
If damaged, remove four locknuts (6), screws (7), and two clamps (5) from welded angle brackets (8). Discard locknuts.
5.
If replacing accumulator (1), remove fitting (3) from accumulator.
6.
If accumulator is unserviceable, ensure it is drained of nitrogen before disposal (WP 0231 00).

INSTALLATION
NOTE
Refer to General Maintenance Instructions in WP 0284 00 for complete instructions on connecting
hydraulic hoses and applying proper torque.
1.
If installing a new accumulator (1), install fitting (3) on accumulator.
2.
If removed, install two clamps (5) on welded angle brackets (8) with four screws (7) and new locknuts (6).
3.
Position accumulator (1) inside clamps (5) and install and tighten two nuts (2).
4.
Connect hose (4) to fitting (3).
5.
Verify accumulator pre-charge pressure and charge as required (WP 0231 00).

Start engine (TM 10-3930-675-10), operate steering, and check for leaks.

Install new tiedown straps as necessary to support hydraulic hoses.
NOTE
Replace hydraulic reservoir return filters after 100 hours of operation (WP 0185 00).
