TOPHANDLER CONTROL VALVE REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED
Refer to General Maintenance Instructions in WP 0284 00 for complete instructions on connecting
hydraulic hoses and applying proper torque.
Perform step 1 to install fittings removed from old control valve, if a new control valve is being
Install fittings (10) on control valve (5).
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Tophandler control valve weighs approximately 150
lb (68 kg). Provide adequate support and use assistance during procedure. Ensure that any lifting
device used is in good condition and of suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported
only by lifting device. Failure to follow this warning may result in death or injury to personnel.
Position mounting plate (11) on control valve (5) and secure with four screws (2), washers (3), and new locknuts (4).
With assistance, position control valve (5) against tophandler (1) and secure with four washers (13) and screws (12).
Connect electrical leads (7) to solenoids (6).
Connect hydraulic hoses (9) to fittings (10) at control valve (5).
Install new tiedown straps, as necessary, to support electrical leads (7) and hydraulic hoses (9).
Start engine (TM 10-3930-675-10), operate tophandler, and check for leaks.
Return cab and boom support to operational position (TM 10-3930-675-10).
Check operation of tophandler (TM 10-3930-675-10).
Replace hydraulic reservoir return filters after 100 hours of operation (WP 0185 00).
