TOPHANDLER TILT CYLINDER REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

CAUTION
Wipe area clean around all hydraulic connections prior to disconnecting. Cap or plug all openings
after disconnecting. Contamination of hydraulic system could result in equipment failure.
NOTE
Tophandler tilt cylinders are replaced in the same manner.
Tag all hydraulic lines.
REMOVAL
1.
Disconnect two hydraulic hoses (8) from cylinder (4).
WARNING
Tophandler tilt cylinder weighs 115 lb (52 kg). Lifting device must have sufficient capacity to lift cylin-
der. Failure to follow this warning may result in death or injury to personnel.
2.
Attach a nylon sling and suitable lifting device to cylinder (4).
3.
At lower end of cylinder (4), remove screw (5) and lockwasher (6). Discard lockwasher.
4.
Remove pin (7).
5.
Raise cylinder (4) to free lower end of cylinder from tophandler. Ensure sling is positioned so cylinder will not tilt when
removed.
6.
At upper end of cylinder (4), remove screw (2) and lockwasher (3). Discard lockwasher.
7.
Remove pin (1).
8.
Remove upper end of cylinder (4) from boom.
9.
Lower cylinder (4) to ground.
