INSTALLATION
NOTE
If new bearings are not being used, ensure bearings and connecting rod are matched as marked
during removal and disassembly.
Tang of bearing MUST be in slot of connecting rod and end of bearing MUST be even with cap
mounting surface.
1.
Install upper bearing (9) in matching connecting rod (8).

Apply a heavy film of clean engine oil to cylinder liner for piston and connecting rod assembly being installed.
3.
To lubricate piston and connecting rod assembly, insert assembly in container of clean engine oil. Remove assembly,
allowing excess oil to drain into container.
NOTE
Ring gaps MUST NOT be aligned with piston pin or any other ring gap.
4.
Rotate piston rings to position ring gaps as shown.
