REMOVAL - CONTINUED
NOTE
DO NOT remove connecting rod capscrews until caps have been loosened.

Loosen connecting rod capscrews (4) and tap heads of screws with plastic-faced hammer to loosen connecting rod cap
(5) from dowel rings.

NOTE
DO NOT drop bottom bearing when cap is removed.

Remove two capscrews (4) with captive washers (6) and connecting rod cap (5) with lower bearing (7).
CAUTION
DO NOT mark bearing on crankshaft mating surface. Damage to engine can occur if bearings are
reinstalled.
6.
Mark cylinder number and letter "L" in flat surface of lower bearing (7) tang and connecting rod cap (5).
