STEERING
1.
Steering Modes.
a.
The RT 240 RTCH can be operated in any of three steering modes: two-wheel, four-wheel or crab steering, as
selected by the steering mode selection switches or by transmission direction and gear range selection.
b.
Always bring the vehicle to a complete stop before switching from one mode of steering to another.
c.
Emergency steering is provided by the emergency ground-driven steering pump. If the engine quits during operation,
this pump provides sufficient hydraulic pressure to control the truck until it is brought to a safe stop.
2.
Two-Wheel Steering. Press the two-wheel steering selection switch on the steering column. Front wheels will steer in the
direction the steering wheel is turned; the rear wheels will remain in the forward position.
