CLEANING - CONTINUED
WARNING
When using steam cleaner, wear protective clothing and eye protection. Hot steam will cause seri-
ous burns.
Compressed air used for cleaning or drying purposes, or for clearing restrictions, should never
exceed 30 psi (207 kPa). Use protective equipment and exercise caution to avoid injury to person-
nel.
3.
Steam clean cylinder head and dry with compressed air.
4.
Use Abrasive Pad (Item 1, WP 0290 00) to clean exhaust gasket surface, rocker housing gasket surface, and combustion
face of cylinder head.
INSPECTION
1.
Visually inspect fuel drillings and water passages for restrictions or foreign material. Remove any obstructions.
NOTE
If conditions in steps 2 and 3 below are found, cylinder head must be disassembled and repaired. If
conditions are not noted, proceed to step 4.
2.
Visually inspect valves (25) and valve springs (28) for cracks, bent or broken valve stems (26), broken valve spring col-
lets (27), or other damage.
3.
Visually inspect valves (25) for indications of leakage or burning.
