STEERING CONTROL VALVE REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

REMOVAL
1.
Press in on eight retaining clips (4) and disconnect eight electrical leads (2) from solenoids (1).

Disconnect 12 hoses (12) from fittings (14) at control valve (13).
WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use assistance
during procedure. Ensure that any lifting device used is in good condition and of suitable load
capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to follow this warning
may result in death or injury to personnel.
Steering control valve weighs approximately 100 lb (45 kg). Lifting device must have sufficient
capacity to lift control valve. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury to personnel.

Wrap a nylon sling around control valve (13) and attach sling to a suitable lifting device.

Remove four nuts (7), screws (8), eight washers (9), spacers (5), and control valve (13) with plate (6) from two welded
angle brackets (3). Set solenoid valve (11) with bracket (10) aside.
5.
Remove four screws and washers and separate control valve (13) from plate (6).
NOTE
Perform step 6 to remove fittings from control valve, if a new control valve is being installed.
6.
Remove 12 fittings (14) from control valve (13).
