INSTALLATION
NOTE
Refer to General Maintenance Instructions in WP 0284 00 for complete instructions on connecting
hydraulic hoses and applying proper torque.
Perform step 1 to install fittings removed from old control valve, if a new control valve is being
installed.
1.
Install 12 fittings (14) in control valve (13).
2.
Install control valve (13) on plate (6) with four washers and screws.
WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use assistance
during procedure. Ensure that any lifting device used is in good condition and of suitable load
capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to follow this warning
may result in death or injury to personnel.
Steering control valve weighs approximately 100 lb (45 kg). Lifting device must have sufficient
capacity to lift control valve. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury to personnel.
3.
With a nylon sling wrapped around control valve (13) and sling supported by a suitable lifting device, position control
valve with plate (6) and spacers (5) at two welded angle brackets (3). Position solenoid valve (11) with bracket (10).
Install four screws (8), eight washers (9), and four nuts (7).
4.
Connect 12 hoses (12) to fittings (14) at control valve (13).
5.
Connect eight electrical leads (2) to solenoids (1).
