1. Rotor
After reassembly of alternator you must
first magnetize the rotor as follows:
a. Connect the alternator to the battery in
a normal manner.
b. Momentarily connect a jumper lead from
the positive terminal of the battery to the
relay terminal as shown at lower right.
This procedure applies to both negative
and positive ground systems.
2. Battery
Battery must be fully charged.
3. Carbon pile
Must be turned off as you increase the
alternator speed. Observe the voltmeter and
refer to the chart below.
