1. Check for dirty or clogged air
cleaner element.
Service or replace air cleaner
element (WP 0056 00).
2. Check
for
restricted
or
damaged fuel return line.
Repair or replace fuel return line
(WP 0059 00).
3. Check for leaking or damaged
air intake hoses, lines, and
clamps.
Tighten or repair air intake hoses,
lines, and clamps (WP 0057 00).
5. Engine Acceleration - Poor.
1. Check and monitor engine
operating temperature
a. Allow to warm to operating
temperature.
b. Perform
cooling
system
troubleshooting checks (WP
0005 00).
2. Check for leaking or damaged
air intake hoses, lines, and
clamps.
Tighten or repair air intake hoses,
lines and clamps (WP 0057 00).
3. Check for restricted or sticking
accelerator pedal.
Remove
restrictions
from
accelerator pedal on cab floor.
4. Check and test throttle position
sensor operation (WP 0008
00).
Replace throttle position sensor
(WP 0061 00).
5. Check for clogged fuel/water
separator.
Replace fuel/water separator
(WP 0058 00).
6. Engine Deceleration - Poor.
1. Check
for
restricted
or
sticking accelerator pedal.
Remove
restriction(s)
from
accelerator pedal.
2. Check and test throttle position
sensor operation (WP 0008
00).
Replace throttle position sensor
(see WP 0061 00).
7. Engine Performance (Power) - Low.
1. Check engine oil level.
Verify
engine
oil
is
not
overfilled. (see LO 10-3930-675-
12).
2. Check for clogged fuel/water
separator.
Replace fuel/water separator
(WP 0058 00).
3. Check for dirty or clogged air
cleaner element.
Service or replace air cleaner
element (WP 0056 00).
4. Check for leaking or damaged
air intake hoses, lines, and
clamps.
Tighten or repair air intake hoses,
lines and clamps (WP 0057 00).
