TM 10-3930-675-20-20115 00-6TRANSMISSION OIL, OIL FILTERS, AND OIL FILTER HEADREPLACEMENT - CONTINUED0115 00TRANSMISSION INTERNAL COARSE OIL FILTER REMOVAL1.Remove transmission skid plate (WP 0135 00).2.Drain transmission oil (refer to Transmission Oil Draining).CAUTIONEnsure no dirt or oil sludge enters transmission.3.Remove three screws (16), washers (17), and cover (18). Remove and discard o-ring (20).4.Remove internal coarse oil filter (19) from transmission.TRANSMISSION INTERNAL COARSE OIL FILTER CLEANING AND INSPECTIONWARNING•Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 type III is toxic and flammable. Wear protective goggles and gloves anduse only in a well-ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothes and do not breathe vapors.Do not use near open flames or excessive heat. The solvent’s flash point is 200°F (94°C). If you becomedizzy while using dry cleaning solvent, get fresh air immediately and get medical aid. If solvent con-tacts eyes, wash your eyes and get medical aid immediately.•Compressed air used for cleaning or drying purposes, or for clearing restrictions, should never exceed30 psi (207 kPa). Use protective equipment and exercise caution to avoid injury to personnel.1.Use solvent to clean internal coarse oil filter.2.Dry internal coarse oil filter with compressed air.3.Inspect filter for damage.
