Lack of lubrication to engine duringdelay to fill filter when starting engine may cause damage to engine.1.Apply a light coat of clean engine oil to filter gasket and fill new oil filter (4) with clean engine oil.NOTEEnsure old gasket material has been removed from sealing surface on filter head.2.Install oil filter (4) on filter head (5) and hand tighten until gasket contacts sealing surface (6).CAUTIONOvertightening of filter can distort threads or damage filter element seal.3.Tighten oil filter (4) ¼ turn with strap wrench.4.Add engine oil to required level (LO 10-3930-675-12).5.Start vehicle (TM 10-3930-675-10) and check for oil leaks.6.Recheck oil level (LO 10-3930-675-12).7.Install engine cover (WP 0143 00).END OF WORK PACKAGE
