AIR CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR DRIVE BELTS REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

INSTALLATION
NOTE
If drive belts are worn, cracked, frayed or dry rotted, belts must be replaced.
1.
Install drive belts (10) around accessory drive pulley (9) and AC compressor pulley (6).
2.
Tighten belt tension adjusting rod (8) until drive belts (10) can be depressed no more than ½ in (12.7 mm) at center of
belts.
3.
Tighten two adjusting jamnuts (7) on belt tension adjusting rod (8).
4.
Tighten screw (2), washer (4), and nut (3) securing AC compressor (5) to mounting bracket (1).
5.
Recheck tension of drive belts (10) to ensure not more than ½ in (12.7 mm) depression at center of belts.
6.
Turn master battery switch to ON position.
7.
Operate engine (TM 10-3930-675-10) for ten minutes. Shut down, recheck, and adjust tension as needed.
