TRANSMISSION OIL, OIL FILTERS, AND OIL FILTER HEAD REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

TRANSMISSION INTERNAL COARSE OIL FILTER INSTALLATION
1.
Install new O-ring (20) in cover (18).
2.
Coat gasket sealing surface of oil filter (19) with lubricating oil and install in transmission.
3.
Screw in oil filter (19) by hand until contact with sealing surface is obtained. Tighten by hand an additional 1/3 to 1/2
turn.
4.
Install cover (18) with three washers (17) and screws (16). Tighten screws to 203 lb-in. (23 Nm).
5.
Fill transmission with oil (TM 10-3930-675-10).
6.
Start engine and check for leaks (TM 10-3930-675-10).
7.
Check transmission oil level with engine idling in neutral and parking brake applied after engine reaches operating tem-
perature (TM 10-3930-675-10).
