BRAKE ACCUMULATOR REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

REMOVAL
1.
Place a suitable container under terminal block (7) to catch any spillage.
2.
Loosen nut (2) so accumulator (4) can be rotated in clamp (3).
3.
Use a strap wrench to turn accumulator (4) counterclockwise, while holding terminal block (7) with an adjustable
wrench. Remove accumulator and O-ring from nipple (1). Discard O-ring.
4.
Remove nipple (1) and O-ring from terminal block (7). Discard O-ring.
5.
If damaged, remove two locknuts (5), screws (6), and clamp (3) from welded bracket at frame. Discard locknuts.
6.
If accumulator is unserviceable, ensure it is drained of nitrogen before disposal (WP 0231 00).

INSTALLATION
1.
If removed, install clamp (3) on welded bracket at frame with two screws (6) and new locknuts (5).
NOTE
O-rings should be lubricated before installation.
2.
Install new O-ring and nipple (1) on terminal block (7).
3.
Position accumulator (4) inside clamp (3).
4.
Install new O-ring and accumulator (4) on nipple (1) while holding terminal block (7) with an adjustable wrench.
5.
Tighten nut (2) to secure accumulator (4) inside clamp (3).
6.
Verify accumulator pre-charge pressure and charge as required (WP 0231 00).

Start engine (TM 10-3930-675-10). Make several brake applications and check for leaks.
NOTE
Replace hydraulic reservoir return filters after 100 hours of operation (WP 0185 00).
