7.
Install two connecting rod guide pins in connecting rod screw holes.
8.
Using a nonmetallic push rod or hammer handle, push connecting rod away from crankshaft.
9.
Push connecting rod until piston rings are outside cylinder block.
10.
Using both hands, remove piston and connecting rod assembly from engine.

Remove upper bearing (9) from connecting rod (8).
CAUTION
DO NOT mark bearing on crankshaft mating surface. Damage to engine can occur if bearings are
reinstalled.
12.
Mark cylinder number and letter "U" in flat surface of upper bearing (9) tang.
