CAUTION
Retaining ring must be seated completely in piston pin groove to prevent damage during engine oper-
ation.
NOTE
Perform steps 1 thru 5 to assemble each piston and connecting rod assembly.
1.
Install new retaining ring (12) in one piston pin bore of piston skirt (15).
NOTE
If piston is being reused, ensure crown, skirt, and pin are matched as noted in disassembly.
2.
Position piston skirt (15) over piston crown (14).

Align pin bore of connecting rod (8) with pin bore of piston skirt (15) and crown (14). Install piston pin (13).
