HYDRAULIC CYLINDER REPAIR (TOPHANDLER, SIDESHIFT, LEVELING,

ASSEMBLY
1.
Install new seals (5) on piston and gland nut (2) and prepare for reassembly.
NOTE
Inner seal should be shaped as shown below to install.

NOTE
After installation, apply light coat of lubricating oil and run finger around interior of seal to position it.

Coat piston and gland nut (2) seals with lubricating oil.
3.
Slide gland nut (2) onto rod.
4.
Start piston into housing (1), far enough to allow gland nut (2) to be started into threads at end of housing (1), which will
align rod in cylinder during assembly.
5.
Continue to push rod into housing (1), leaving about 3 in. (7.6 cm) of rod exposed.
6.
Tighten gland nut (2) in housing (1), using chain wrench or pin spanner wrench.
7.
Assemble clevis (4) onto end of rod and secure with allen set-screw (3).
8.
Install cylinder in vehicle (WP 0254 00, WP 0255 00, WP 0256 00, WP 0257 00, or WP 0261 00).
