HYDRAULIC SYSTEM TEST POINT PROCEDURES - CONTINUED
0186 00
TEST POINT NO. 1: BRAKE ACCUMULATOR NO. 1 - CONTINUED
2.
Connect hydraulic test gage with adapter to test point no. 1.
3.
Start engine. Pressure will rise to 2537.5 psi (175 bar).
4.
Pump brake pedal. Pressure will slowly drop to 1975.5 psi (135 bar), then pressure will return to 2537.5-2610 psi (175-
180 bar).
5.
Shut down engine.
6.
Slowly open shutoff valve in brake system circuit no. 1. Pressure will drain to 1232.5-1305 psi (85-90 bar) and then
drop off completely. The pressure at which gage drops off completely is the pre-charged nitrogen pressure in accumula-
tors. Close shutoff valve.
7.
Start engine. Pressure gage will jump to pre-charged nitrogen pressure in accumulators.
8.
Shut down engine. Relieve hydraulic system pressure (WP 0164 00).
9.
Disconnect hydraulic test gage and adapter from test point no. 1.
TEST POINT NO. 2: BRAKE ACCUMULATOR NO. 2
NOTE
Test point no. 2 provides a means to check brake charging valve opening pressure and accumulator pre-
charge nitrogen pressure within brake circuit no. 2.
1.
Drain brake system circuit no. 2 accumulator pressure by opening shutoff valve. When system has completely drained,
close shutoff valve.
2.
Connect hydraulic test gage with adapter to test point no. 2.
3.
Start engine. Pressure will rise to 2537.5 psi (175 bar).
4.
Pump brake pedal. Pressure will slowly drop to 1975.5 psi (135 bar), then pressure will return to 2537.5-2610 psi (175-
180 bar).
5.
Shut down engine.
