ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLY MAINTENANCE - CONTINUED

INSPECTION
NOTE
If the following conditions are noted or specifications are not met, item being inspected must be replaced.
1.
Ensure components have been thoroughly cleaned and visually inspect rocker levers for these conditions:
a.
Cracks, excessive pitting, or other visible damage.
b.
Thread damage to adjusting screw threads.
c.
Sockets and pads for cracks, pits, wear, or other damage.
2.
Visually inspect adjusting nut and adjusting screw for damaged threads.
3.
Visually inspect shaft for pitting, scoring, or other damage.
4.
Visually inspect supports for cracks, pitting, or other damage.
5.
Measure rocker lever bushing inside diameter. Measurement must be 1.3735 to 1.3776 in. (34.887 to 34.99 mm). If not
within range, replace bushing.

Measure outside diameter of rocker lever shaft. Diameter must be 1.3715 to 1.3726 in. (34.837 to 34.864 mm). If diam-
eter is not within range, replace rocker lever shaft.
