TOPHANDLER SIDESHIFTING CYLINDER REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

INSTALLATION
WARNING
Tophandler sideshifting cylinder weighs 211 lb (96 kg). Lifting device must have sufficient capacity to
lift cylinder. Failure to follow this warning may result in death or injury to personnel.
NOTE
Refer to General Maintenance Instructions in WP 0284 00 for complete instructions on connecting
hydraulic hoses and applying proper torque.
1.
Using suitable lifting device and nylon sling attached to cylinder (6), align cylinder to tophandler (7).
2.
Install pin (3), spacer ring (2), and lockring (1).
3.
Repeat step 2 at opposite end of cylinder (6).
4.
Connect two hydraulic hoses (4) to cylinder (6).
5.
Install three hose clamps (5) on hydraulic hoses (4) and cylinder (6).
6.
Check oil level in hydraulic reservoir (WP 0050 00).
7.
Start engine (TM 10-3930-675-10), operate sideshifting cylinders, and check for leaks.
8.
Recheck oil level in hydraulic reservoir (WP 0050 00).
NOTE
Replace hydraulic reservoir return filters after 100 hours of operation (WP 0185 00).
