CYLINDER BLOCK REPAIR - CONTINUED
Cylinder liner O-rings are made by two different processes: molded or lathe-cut. Lathe-cut O-rings
must be installed with straight side facing cylinder block.
Ensure cylinder block is installed on rebuild stand for assembly.
Lubricate new O-ring with clean engine oil and install O-ring on cylinder liner as shown.
Liners must be installed within 30 seconds after being lubricated with oil. If liners are not installed
within this time limit, O-ring will swell and be damaged when liner is installed.
When acceptable reused liners are installed, rotate liner 90 degrees from original position in engine.
Thrust and anti-thrust surfaces MUST face front and back of cylinder block.
Using cylinder liner driver and plastic-faced hammer, install cylinder liner into cylinder block bore.
