MALFUNCTION TEST OR INSPECTION CORRECTIVE ACTION Error Code 1431 - Idle Validation Switch Circuit Failure 1. Place ignition switch to OFF position and ensure that harness is properly connected to sensor switch. Connect any loose connections. 2. Place ignition switch to ON position. Calibrate accelerator pedal. a. Depress accelerator pedal to fully depressed position. b. Release accelerator pedal. c. Repeat steps a and b two times. 3. Place ignition switch to OFF position and disconnect harness from throttle position sensor and engine ECU OEM harness connector. a. Inspect harness connector and engine ECU connector for dirty, corroded, bent, broken, pushed back, and extended pins. Clean and repair connector(s) as required (WP 0111 00). 2 TIMES
