Align dowel pins in oil pump body (12) with locating holes in rear cover plate (13) and secure rear cover plate with four
screws (15). Alternately tighten screws to 216 lb-in. (20 Nm).

Verify drive gear turns freely and shaft end clearance is within specifications (refer to Inspection).
7.
INSTALLATION
NOTE
Ensure cylinder block mounting holes and screws have been cleaned and all residue removed.
DO NOT lubricate new O-rings. O-rings will swell and pump cannot be installed.
1.
Install two new O-rings (18 and 19) on oil pump assembly (8) with thickest O-ring in groove nearest drive gear (14).

Apply clean lubricating oil to oil pump gears.
3.
Apply a thin film of grease to oil pump bore in cylinder block.
